Dear Fellow Gamers,

The world is facing a challenge of enormous scale and human impact with the outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Based on recent developments, I wanted to reach out to you and provide an update on the actions we are taking to help prevent the spread of the virus and to support the health and wellbeing of our customers and the broader community. After consulting data from the WHO, and the NHS we have decided to cancel organised play in the store for the rest of March. Social distancing is an effective way to prevent transmission and the earlier measures are taken, the larger the positive impact we can have on the spread of the virus.

The decision to stop playing in-store has not been made lightly. The impacts on the financial health of 3rd Space Gaming are potentially significant, but the health and safety of our community is our highest priority. I would ask if you are a regular user of the store, and if you are not experiencing financial hardship, please consider setting up a Star Player membership (or maintaining it through this period) even though, or perhaps especially now we are unable to offer a gaming space. If you want a local game store when ordinary life begins to resume (which it surely will) we need your financial support now.

We remain open as a hobby shop and online for you to purchase or order hobby products, board games and other fun things for you to pass the time while isolated and we particularly appreciate your support at this time. You can collect in-store or we'll deliver. Our opening hours will be temporarily amended in this period, listed below. We’ll review all of this in the light of any new information and let you know here or via Discord.

This is an opportunity for us to be the model for our community. Let us elevate and inspire ourselves and others. This is not a time for panic, but a time for positive action. Let’s shine in the face of adversity.
